Sister Jane Jangao, a BS Accountancy student, struggled to finish her first year due to financial hardship and parents' discouragement. She and her husband participated in Starting My Business (SMB) classes in 2023, which helped her start her business. They now sell used clothing near the bus terminal and the marketplace, where supplies of vegetables and fish arrive from various sources. They set up their merchandise under an extended tent during the terminal's busy hours and move to the marketplace in the afternoon. Brother and Sister Jangao buy goods wrapped in big bundles from a supplier in the city, sort them, choose the nicer ones, display them properly, and sell the others at a low price. They enjoy the experience of finding good, cheap items and want to double their display capacity and find a permanent store to display all their goods. Sister Jangao learned how to create a good business plan, track sales and expenses, and understand customer needs. Her experience has led her to know her customers better. The couple prays to Heavenly Father before starting their selling activities and reads scriptures together. They are thankful for the support and blessings they received from SMB, which have been a huge help to them and their family. She shared, "We feel the Holy Ghost helping us in our personal and business decisions. We are very much thankful that I have been selected to participate in SMB. This has been a huge help and blessing for me and my family." 6 Back to All Stories
